Wells County: Rooted in Real Food

Right in the heart of Wells County, you’ll find a patchwork of passionate growers, small-scale farmers, and homestead heroes. From microgreens to honey, heritage livestock to heirloom produce, our soil is rich — and so is the culture of growing local and with love.

One can’t-miss event this year is the Hay Ride Tour at Wholesome Meadows Farms, happening Friday, August 1st from 4–6 p.m.

Why It Matters

Local food isn’t just about taste (though it’s amazing), it’s about transparency, trust, and tradition. It’s about investing in your community, knowing your farmer, and supporting a food system that values people and the planet.

Whether you’re a seasoned market-goer or just beginning to explore your local food scene, Local Food Week offers a chance to learn, taste, and grow — together.
