“My brick and mortar coffee shop is named after my Pappa, Hugh, who taught me how to bake. Hugh learned how to bake from his wife and my Mamaw, Avis. When she was ill with cancer, Pappa would carry her to the kitchen and she would teach him how to cook and bake. She later passed away in 1997.
Naming the coffee cart after Avis felt like the appropriate way to honor her legacy given that so much of what I learned from Pappa, he learned from her.”-Lydia (owner)
