1. Ouabache State Park
Located conveniently just a short drive from Downtown Bluffton with 5 hiking trails & gorgeous views from the Restored Fire Watch Tower.
Want a challenge? Complete the 4 mile CCC Challenge course showcasing the importance of the Civilian Conservation Corps to Indiana State Parks. After you complete the challenge you will be rewarded a free CCC Challenge sticker at the property office. IN addition visit the Friends of Ouabache website to purchase the challenge t-shirt for $20. Pickup the challenge brochure and a map of the course at the gatehouse or property office.
2. Acres Along the Wabash
Find this solitary escape to nature just Northwest of Bluffton on State Road 116 between Bluffton and Markle, Indiana. This primitive nature trail owned by ACRES Land Trust requires hikers to be dressed for the elements with close encounters of live overgrowth on the path. Learn more about the ACRES land trust a non-profit member supported organization dedicated to protecting land in Northeast Indiana and portions of Southern Michigan and Northwest Ohio.
3. The River Greenway
Accessible to all with a paved flat path that winds the span of 2.5 miles from The White Bridge on S 450 E to The Wabash Pavilion (next to Hardees) along the Wabash River. Campers at Ouabache can also walk, bike, hike starting at the ‘Bike Trail’ (2.5 miles) within the Park enjoy a combined 5 miles of paved path. The River Greenway connects the Ouabache State Park to Downtown Bluffton offering convenient connection to nature and the events, shopping and restaurants of Downtown Bluffton.
